Poseidon Undersea Resort: Jules Verne’s radical imagination predicted, since the 19th century, a series of technological breakthroughs that have been manifested in a very similar manner during our times. The author of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and The Mysterious Island was quite on point when he fantasized about the future on Earth. Ingenious ideas such as television, helicopters, great ocean liners, submarines and spaceships are descendants of his enormous intellect. But one of his great predictions had to wait until the 21st century to come to life: a city built under the sea.
This super-luxurious five-star hotel resort is located in Fiji.
The Poseidon Undersea Resort isn’t precisely the city that Verne conceived in his novels, but the French author would have been proud of its accomplishments. This super-luxurious five-star hotel resort, located in Fiji, one of the most beautiful and romantic settings in our planet, has an amazing selection of suites built under the waters of the Pacific Ocean. The hotel extends through approximately 38,000 sq. ft. with one and a half miles in length. It is surrounded by an expansive lagoon of crystal clear waters, almost 90 feet deep, inhabited by abundant and colorful marine life. The main amenities are located on the grounds of a private island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by approximately 5,000 reefs. The resort offers three types of lodgings: on a private beach, on the water, or below the surface of the ocean. These are spectacular suites, luxurious apartments, and magnificent bungalows (locally known as bures).

The underwater suites are accessed through an elevator located at the end of a pier. Once inside, the guests will not find any difference between the pressure in the interior suites and the atmospheric pressure on the surface. The otherworldly accommodations also come with air conditioning and controlled humidity, for a comfortable stay.
Around 70 percent of the outer surface of the 24 underwater suites was built with clear acrylic glass from floor to ceiling to allow the guests the pleasure of the most incredible panoramic views of the sea floor. On the outside, each suite has its own coral garden, featuring unique varieties of marine life, which can be lit with the turn of a switch.
The Poseidon Undersea Resort offers all the comforts and conveniences of a five star hotel for the most discerning travelers, particularly those longing for exceptional and unusual experiences.

Following the underwater theme, visitors can opt for diving excursions, with a guide, through the pristine, clear waters of the South Pacific.
The greatness and beauty of nature, in its entire splendor, lures thousands of tourists to Fiji. Once there, the golden sunsets give in to magical, starlit evenings. The views from the beach at nightfall are quite amazing, especially if taken with a cocktail in hand and next to that special person in our lives.
