Hennessey Performance assures that its Venom F5 will be the fastest street vehicle in the world thanks to its 1,600 horsepower, which will allow it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2 seconds and achieve a maximum speed of 300 mph.
There are 24 models of the F5

- 1,600 horsepower, 7-litre twin-turbo engine.
- 0 to 60 mph in little more than 2 seconds.
- 300 mph maximum speed.
In the past years, many models of supercars have been presented to claim the position of the most powerful and the fastest in the world. For example, the Bugatti Chiron, with its shocking 1,500 horsepower, set the Guinness record for acceleration from 0 to 249 miles per hour in 41.96 seconds. But in no time, the Swedish company Koenigsegg dethroned Bugatti by setting a surprising record of 36.44 seconds to reach the same speed.
In this case, the Hennessey Venom F5 promises to outdo these brands, achieving the same speed in under 30 seconds, and its main goal is to become the first legal super sports car to reach the astronomical speed of 300 miles per hour (448 kmph).
To achieve this, the Texas company designed a completely new carbon fiber frame and developed a high performance design with a coefficient of 0.33 that, added to active aerodynamic tools, allows for these accelerations to be reached without taking the wheels off the ground. With an automatic transmission of 7 speeds, the power of the 7-litre twin-turbo engine shall be given exclusively to the rear wheels, to anticipate a distinctly sport driving dynamic.
The official presentation of the model took place at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the event where Hennessey confirmed that it would only build 24 models of the F5 for a price of around $1.6 million USD each, and that the first will be delivered in 2019.
From an aesthetic point of view, we must say that it is not a car that demonstrates a very defined identity, since its front is very reminiscent of the 448 GTB model from Ferrari, and the yellow chosen for the show car is not very representative of the American industry either.
But going beyond the design criticisms, the Venom F5 is a model that is creating lots of expectations and all lovers of super sports cars are eagerly hoping to see it break records on American streets that, for now, are held by European companies. ■
