Faithful to the tradition of excellence established more than a century ago by Harry Winston, founder of the acclaimed luxury house that bears his name, the brand’s timepieces are distinguished for their delicate designs and elegant lines. To celebrate the opening of its new boutique in Geneva, the firm introduces Harry Winston Premier Feathers Geneva, a limited edition of watches featuring, as the main design element, feathers from exotic birds. But this is not the first time the company uses feathers in its magnificent watches.
Nestled at the heart of the case, the dial is adorned with a marquetry of feathers, carefully set to represent the colors of autumn. Peacock and pheasant feathers, in a delicate palette of gold, orange, brown and ochre tones, bring unsurpassed distinction to every piece.
This type of work (plumassière) is an almost extinct art form that requires time, finesse and dexterity. For this occasion, the jewelry firm hired the renowned artist Nelly Saunier, one of the few active plumassières (feather artist) of our times. The combination of the brand’s vast experience in haute horology and Saunier’s impeccable talent has resulted in eight extraordinary pieces for this special edition.
The ornamental 36 mm case, made of 18K red gold, features 96 diamonds. At the 12 (o’clock) and 6 o’clock positions, three vertical arches, each adorned by 3 diamonds, remind us of the distinctive facade of the Harry Winston salon in New York City. The elegant watch is equipped with a quartz movement and teamed with an elegant black satin strap. This new celebration line offers pieces that communicate a delicate and elegant femininity.
Vibrant colors, red gold, diamonds and exotic feathers come together in this exquisite timepiece. With a price of $66,000, the Harry Winston Premier Feather Geneva Limited Edition is arguably a perfect gift: exclusive, luxurious and distinctive. ■
