In addition to the new design theme, the brand has also experimented with new materials including a satin adaptation of the Lauren, a shape that was introduced in Fall 2015. The Lauren is Edie Parker’s first frame clutch, venturing out of the acrylic world.
Some other notable changes include adding a new removable black cord strap to the existing signature chain and leather strap collection. The brand has also created larger shapes this season allowing you to carry all of your essentials!
Edie Parker stands out in a world where craftsmanship and quality are often compromised for higher profits and volume. The company was founded by designer Brett Heyman, in 2010, and inspired by the designer’s love of mid-century style. Heyman collected vintage acrylic clutches that were made in America during the 1950s and 1960s. She scoured second-hand shops, and when she could no longer find any, she began looking into the way in which they were designed and fabricated to make her own.
Heyman has used the same craftsmanship techniques that were used in the 1950s and 60s to create her collection and continued the tradition of having each bag meticulously handcrafted in America. Before starting her fashion project, Brett was PR Director for Gucci, Elle Magazine, Dolce & Gabbana, and Giorgio Armani.
Today, the brand has expanded to include new shapes, sizes, straps, and materials as well as a bespoke collection that allows clients to customize their clutches. ■
