Four-Door Luxury Sedan

The Porsche Panamera Executive, a Sports Car That Seduces Both Men and Women

Move over critics, this elegant luxury sedan’s fluid lines and sporty ride have captured the hearts of the brand’s enthusiasts, and made more women want to take the wheel.

The Porsche Panamera is a four-door luxury sedan that has risen to become one of the historic icons of the segment, like the Mercedes Benz S class or the BMW 7 series. While at first this model was much criticized by Porsche purists, in time it has won over the hearts of lovers of the brand, particularly among female customers, earning a place among luxury sedans preferred by women.

Year after year, women are showing a growing taste for sports cars, and not necessarily for going for a ride in the passenger seat, but for sitting behind the wheel. But unlike men, they don’t just focus on speed and horsepower; they also pay special attention to design and esthetics. This is where the Porsche Panamera stands out notably from its competitors, offering an elegant, sporty, high-tech car with pleasing, fluid lines that is in stark contrast to the competition’s enormous limousines, for instance, the Mercedes Maybach.

The line’s limousines are called Executive and their four seats boast enormous dimensions, yet they retain, unlike any other, the incomparable sensation of traveling in a sports car. The seat design, the sloping roof, the rather small windows and the impressive performance reassert in every moment that we are driving a Porsche.

The Porsche Panamera is a four-door luxury sedan that has risen to become one of the historic icons of the segment.

The two most extreme versions of the model are:

  • The Panamera Turbo Executive, with a super modern 550hp 4.0L twin turbo V8 engine, which combined with a dual clutch and an eight-speed PDK transmission, allows for an acceleration of 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 190 mph.
  • On the other hand, for those seeking a somewhat more eco-friendly car, there is the Turbo S-E Hybrid Executive (pluggable), with the same combustion engine and transmission as the model described above plus a 136hp electric engine, resulting in a total of 680 hp and registering an acceleration of 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 192 mph.

In sum, the Panamera is a model that, because of its esthetics and its performance, seduces executives driven by chauffeurs as well as parents that want a car that lets them drive the kids to school during the week and have fun doing a circuit on the weekend without giving up one inch of their personal style.

These solid reasons make the model one of the most attractive luxury sedans on the market. In its second generation, introduced in 2017, its features were emphasized, notably improving its design details. For example, the turbo versions offer an exquisite bipartite spoiler, and the new interior has an arrangement more in keeping with current trends, with fewer of the physical buttons that were absurdly abundant in the first Panamera models, which have now been replaced by multifunction touch screens.

The Panamera aims to compete strongly with super-luxury sedans, and, as the popular saying goes, if you want to convince a man about something, you must convince his wife. With this product, Porsche is doing just that.  ■
