From this new technological development, companies around the world have realized that the high cost of the technology and its amazing benefits open a new commercial opportunity: large TVs that can also offer amazingly clear images. These are a just a few examples that can be found at select electronics stores.
The British company Titan manufactures the biggest and most surprising TV set in the world, the Titan Zeus. It boasts a huge screen of 370 diagonal inches, i.e. it is almost 24 feet wide by 16 feet high. But not only is the screen colossal; its weight reaches a ton. Despite its enormous size, the Titan Zeus delivers UHD images with a digital resolution of 3,840 pixels by 2,160 pixels and a capacity for 65 billion colors. In fact, its picture quality exceeds by four times the traditional Full HD. This “titanic” TV comes with a $1.7 million price tag.
Sony Bravia 85 UHD4K
Compared to the Titan Zeus, the Sony Bravia 85 UHD 4K is a more conventional unit, but with an 85-inch screen—7 feet wide by 4 feet high— is also a giant TV. And like the Zeus, it offers a UHD resolution with 3,840 pixels by 2,160 pixels. The Sony Bravia includes 3D playback with the appropriate glasses and an excellent sound system. It also has separate software with Smart TV features and gesture controls, which allow you, for example, to change the channel or volume just by moving your hands. The price: $25,000.
Samsung S9 85″ Class
With an 84.5-inch diagonal screen, this Samsung TV set includes UHD resolution, Smart TV operating system, 3D playback, 2.2 sound system and gesture control. It also has the distinction of having a splendid metal frame shaped like a stand for easy installation and mobility. With great design and performance, this Samsung model is priced at $40,000. ■
