Vienna Restaurants

The German-born chef Silvio Nickol is the soul of the restaurant that bears his name. The famous establishment is located inside the luxurious Palais Coburg Hotel in downtown Vienna. Nickol has a bright outlook when it comes to his career: “Passion, work and luck are the three cornerstones of my profession,” he says. He acknowledges these three premises because his path to becoming an acclaimed chef has been marked by incessant work carried out with passion. He has also been fortunate to learn from great cuisine masters such as Lothar Eiermann and Heinz Winkler, among others. Since 2011, Nickol runs the kitchen of this gourmet restaurant that proudly boasts two Michelin stars. The restaurant’s interior shows a refined elegance. An amethyst wall at the entrance offers a glamorous welcome, and the unusual decorative style of the dining room—a take on 1960s futurism— makes it the ideal place to enjoy an excellent meal. The menu features typical country products sourced from selected farms. The creative kitchen combines the imagination and talent of a chef as inspired and talented as Silvio Nickol to deliver unique Austrian cuisine. The outstanding wine list features more than 5,500 labels—including some rare wines—and is one of Europe’s most extensive..

Vienna Restaurants

The simple, pure and heartfelt cuisine by Alexander Konstantin Filippou in his Michelin-starred restaurant is distinguished by the unbridled passion he shows for the ingredients he uses. The iconoclastic chef also has a keen eye for what really matters: the essence of taste. Born to a Greek father and Austrian mother, Alexander reveals his multicultural background in his cuisine. He creates a brilliant–personal and subjective—fusion cuisine with glorious presentations that remind us of paintings by Kandinsky or Miró, among other artists. The dining room—with seating capacity for 35 diners—is decorated with elegance and sobriety, overlooking the heart of the restaurant: the kitchen. Konstantin Filippo`s kitchen table is a favorite spot for those who wish to observe carefully the artistry of the master chef and his faithful team. The restaurant also has a private dining room, located in an exclusive and cozy area ideal for small family celebrations or corporate events. Guests should not miss the restaurant’s exquisite and remarkable signature dishes such as the cod (one brandade with belly and caviar) or the poached mackerel with horseradish, just to mention some of his brilliant creations. The restaurant has an exciting wine cellar, and the service is discreet and professiona.
