Three exceptional restaurants in the city of Reims, the heart of the Champagne region.

Reims, the beautiful city located in the French region of Champagne—declared World Heritage Site by Unesco— is famous because in the old times the kings of France were crowned there. Also, and most importantly, it is the place where the world’s best champagnes are produced.

Nine of the leading champagne labels converge in the historic city center. Needless to say, the gastronomic offer in this corner of France will delight gourmands and wine lovers like no other place in the world.

If you have the opportunity to travel to Reims, you should not miss these temples of French cuisine.

Le Parc

Inside the ultra-luxurious Chateau Les Crayères Hotel, we find one of the best restaurants in Reims and therefore all of France: the exclusive Le Parc, awarded two Michelin stars. One of the star chefs of contemporary French cuisine, Philippe Mille, helms the impressive kitchen. The chef’s different menus capture the finesse and savoir-faire of the finest cuisine in the country. Le Parc is set in a stately dining room, whose splendor and sophistication evoke the salons at the Palace of Versailles.

The rolled eggs with powdered mushrooms, foie gras with Ratafia jelly and the caramelized pears with chutney are exceptional dishes that reveal Mille’s talent and creativity. The excellent service and a superb choice of wines and spirits contribute to the perfection of this unique restaurant.

Brasserie Flo

Brasserie Flo is located inside a beautiful and fully restored old mansion opposite the train station in Reims, at 96 Drouet d’Erlon Place. The restaurant is frequented by politicians, artists, businessmen and local patrons from the Champagne region that come here to enjoy—in an elegant dining room— delicious dishes prepared with passion and talent. Not to mention that the menu is regularly updated to keep pace with the seasons.

The food selection features unique creations such as the delicious roast monkfish casserole with mushroom sauce, or the delicate scallops with smoked duck breast. Their seafood and oysters are not to be missed, and for the more intrepid foodies, the snails are a sure bet. It also has an excellent wine list that includes the finest champagnes.

Le Foch

Strolling through the city center you will arrive at the number 37 of the central boulevard Foch, where chef Jacky Louazé offers a very elaborate, seasonal gastronomy based on natural products. His duck foie gras, pâté, the outstanding saffron salt and his meat dishes are exceptional among other amazing creations included in a menu that represent the best of the Champagne region.

The recently redecorated dining room has a vibrant, fresh and modern look. Although you can order a la carte, I recommend their seven-course tasting menu, which contains the most authentic creations of this restaurant that many believe should have been awarded one or two Michelin stars a long time ago. Le Foch excellent service and a plush and well-stocked tray of local cheeses are the perfect finishing touch to a meal that deserves to be accompanied by one of the champagnes from the area.
