Tyler Ellis’s chic and timeless handbags

The constant aesthetic of quiet luxury and timelessness are evident in the brands’ commitment to old world craftsmanship.

The secret is out of the bag, great style and elegance seem to be an Ellis family trait. Times have shifted, and now we’re talking about that other Ellis – Tyler Alexandra Gallagher Ellis, daughter of the legendary fashion designer Perry Ellis. Ellis launched Tyler Ellis in 2011. Since then, her luxury handbag collections have become synonymous with chic, minimal style. The constant aesthetic of quiet luxury and timelessness are evident in the brands’ commitment to old world craftsmanship. While the firm’s main market is the United States, Ellis prefers Italian-made handbags. Each bag is handcrafted in Florence from exotic skins, including cobra, alligator and python, accented by the brand’s signature icons: two small golden pinecones. Ellis explains that these icons symbolize, according to ancient traditions, spiritual enlightenment, the third eye and the pineal gland, “which leads to the highest form of spiritual awakening.”
Ellis’s designs are cropping up in the hands of fashion-forward celebrities, including Chrissy Teigen and actress Kate Hudson, accessorizing their red carpet looks with her modern interpretations on classic silhouettes. They photograph beautifully, absent from any trace of obnoxious flashy branding, which gives each bag an ageless quality.

Her latest line is poised to garner an even bigger fan base.  If anything should make a comeback, it will be this stylishly silhouetted take on an old classic type of handbag. The bags are available in niche sizes, made, even more, adorable in their varying hues and exotic skins.
