The French Heritage Society held its annual gala at the Plaza Hotel in New York on October 31, 2018. The festively themed Black and Orange Ball paid tribute to the luxury design brand LALIQUE and its founder René Lalique. The evening was promoted by the Ambassador of France in the United States, Gérard Araud; the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of France for the United Nations, François Delattre; Sophie L'Hélias-Delattre, Consul General of France in New York; and Bénédicte de Montlaur, Cultural Counselor of the French Embassy in the United States. The chairs of the event were: CeCe Black, Silvina Leone, Liz McDermott, Jay R. Paul, Jean Shafiroff, and Ann Van Ness. The chapter chairs in New York were: Guy N. Robinson and Odile de Schiétère-Longchampt. This year's board of directors included: Elizabeth F. Stribling, Board Director, Denis de Kergorlay, President, David M. Gray, Treasurer and Jennifer Herlein, Executive Director. Founded in 1982, the French Heritage Society is a bicultural effort for both French and Americans to protect and enjoy the historic architecture of France.
