Vicky Lau<\/strong>, la joven chef y propietaria del restaurante Tate Dining Room de Hong Kong, premiado con una estrella Michelin, ha sido elegida como Mejor Cocinera de Asia 2015. Esta distinci\u00f3n es otorgada cada a\u00f1o por la firma francesa de champagnes Veuve Clicquot junto a la revista brit\u00e1nica Restaurant<\/em>. Un galard\u00f3n que Lau recibir\u00e1 el 9 de marzo en la gala de entrega de premios que se celebrar\u00e1 en Singapur.<\/p>\n

En esa fecha, adem\u00e1s, se conocer\u00e1 la nueva lista de los 50 Mejores Restaurantes de Asia 2015, que elaboran por tercer a\u00f1o consecutivo cocineros y expertos en gastronom\u00eda de la regi\u00f3n. Al mismo tiempo, se publicar\u00e1 la clasificaci\u00f3n de los m\u00e1s destacados restaurantes de Am\u00e9rica Latina (vea aqu\u00ed la lista de 2014<\/a>) y la de los 50 Mejores del Mundo, que desde 2014 encabeza el Noma<\/a>, situado en Copenhague y regentado por el chef Ren\u00e9 Redzepi<\/a>. <\/p>\n


\nVicky Lau<\/strong>, de 34 a\u00f1os y nacida en Hong Kong, inaugur\u00f3 su restaurante en el a\u00f1o 2012 despu\u00e9s de estudiar cocina por afici\u00f3n, ya que se hab\u00eda graduado como dise\u00f1adora gr\u00e1fica en New York. Pero fue en la escuela Le Cordon Bleu de Bangkok donde descubri\u00f3 su verdadera vocaci\u00f3n, la misma que le llev\u00f3 a trabajar en el restaurante C\u00e9page de Hong Kong, bajo la tutela del chef Sebastien Lepinoy<\/strong>, donde aprendi\u00f3 todo lo que le ha llevado a convertirse en la gran cocinera que es hoy en d\u00eda.<\/p>\n

\u00abLa habilidad de Lau<\/strong> y su talento art\u00edstico brillan a trav\u00e9s de platos muy bien presentados, y su pasi\u00f3n creativa es evidente en una experiencia gastron\u00f3mica que despierta verdaderamente los sentidos\u00bb, ha destacado de ella la organizaci\u00f3n del premio al dar a conocer su veredicto.<\/p>\n

Cuando Lau<\/strong> abri\u00f3 hace un par de a\u00f1os Tate Dining Room se cre\u00f3 inmediatamente, en todos los c\u00edrculos gastron\u00f3micos de Hong Kong, un rumor imparable que iba de boca en boca y que hablaba insistentemente de la magnificencia de sus men\u00fas denominados \u201cHistorias comestibles\u201d, inspirados en un tema concreto que desarrolla desde el primer bocado hasta el postre.
