Could a car as extreme as the Pagani Zonda R be even wilder? The answer can be found in the Pagani Zonda Revolucion. For the improved version, the Italian manufacturer increased the power of the engine and reduced the weight to a minimum.

This new model features a Mercedes-Benz AMG 6.0 l V12 engine capable of delivering 800 hp and 730 Nm torque. The car’s frame is made from carbon fiber and titanium, giving it a total weight of only 1,070 kg. (2.358 lbs.), less than a Mazda MX-5.

Revolucion is the new limited edition from Pagani Zonda, and also its wildest product. In addition, it will put an end to the history of this iconic model, which will remain etched in the memory and hearts of all its fans and acolytes.

“Parameters are made to be surpassed. We knew Pagani Zonda R was a fast car, the fastest in the history of the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit. We also knew it was going to be very difficult to design and build an even more extreme car. But thanks to the creativity of our designers, engineers, and the Pagani family, we have created a beautiful vehicle and the fastest Pagani to date. I am sure this car is going to astonish all our customers and fans,” said Horacio Pagani, owner and Chief Designer of Pagani Automobili, explaining what the new Revolucion represents to the brand.

This model uses a fast shifting six-speed sequential gearbox made with magnesium to transfer all the power of the engine to the rear wheels. The improved transmission is able to change marches in just 20 milliseconds.

Performance that takes your breath away is what results from the combination of new technology with such powerful force: the Revolucion accelerates from zero to 100 km/h (60 mph) in 2.6 seconds, and is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 350 km/h (217 mph).

Other features also influence the stunning performance, such as aerodynamics, new deflectors on the front hood, and a vertical stabilizer mounted on the rear. But the most important feature is the DRS (Drag-Reduction-System), located in the rear wing. This system works like the ones used in Formula One cars, and the driver can activate and deactivate it by the touch of a button on the steering wheel. This increases the aerodynamic load in areas where a greater grip is necessary, like curves, and reduces the impact of the air on the straight lines to allow maximum speed. It can also be set to run automatically.

The pilot has access to traction control developed by Bosch, with 12 kinds of different settings that give him constant control of the vehicle, thus challenging the laws of physics. In addition, the Revolucion boasts a Brembo CCMR braking system, the same used in Formula One, that according to Pagani is four times more powerful, 15% lighter, and can last up to four times more than other models. The renovated ABS system also adapts the car’s behavior to the driver’s needs and demands.

Those who love strong emotions will have to disburse the astronomical sum of 2.2 million euros before sitting behind the wheel of this amazing beast. That is the price the manufacturer has set for the new Pagani Zonda Revolucion.
