Pamper Your Skin Before And After The Wedding

Dr. Oscar Hevia

Follow these tips from Dr. Oscar Hevia and look radiant before and after the big event.

Some women dream of their weddings since the day they are born, while others don’t give it much thought until the actual opportunity arises. Yet no matter who you are, how big your wedding, or who your guests are, the wedding day is a beautiful milestone in every woman’s life. Most brides spend months perfecting every detail; from the flowers to the gown to the reception hall, the music and the food, but ironically they fail to pay attention to some fleeting, yet vital details. Yes, this will be your most special day, so be prepared to attract everyone’s attention during the entire event. The gown and the hair are ceremonious and of utmost importance, but the elusive bridal glow, expected of chaste brides, doesn’t always reflect our happiness. For those of us who have to work a little harder, those whose natural glow doesn’t come quite so naturally, here are some tips from Cosmetic Dermatologist Expert Dr. Oscar Hevia to make those wedding and honeymoon pictures really radiate.

Before the Wedding

Hoping to reinvigorate your skin leading up to the wedding?
Look your best in no time. Your best bet is an oxygen facial. It plumps up and hydrates your skin with hyaluronic acid.

Avoid the sun.
You should do your best to protect your skin from intense sun exposure. Nothing accelerates aging like ultraviolet rays, and no matter how much we try to repair/protect our skin, it’s much better to not damage it in the first place!

Consider an appropriate procedure.
There are numerous non-surgical aesthetic procedures the bridal party can consider, including reshaping a nose and plumping sagging earlobes, to minimizing frown lines, crow’s feet, sagging jowls, correcting scars and even aging hands. These alternatives will allow the bridal party to put forth a flawless image in every photo and video, whether candid or staged.

Honeymoon

Pack the ESSENTIALS.
Always take your serum or your night repair cream with you. Traveling can really dry out your skin and worsen the appearance of fine lines and pores. A serum (or night cream) will keep your skin smooth and supple. (I mention either/or because some prefer the feel of serums and others the night creams.)

Pressed for time?
Simplify your skincare routine. Just because you’re on vacation doesn’t mean you should take a “vacation” from your skincare regimen, too. Cleanse in the shower (you’re already there)! Forget the toner afterward, and go right to your serum to nourish your skin before your makeup (assuming you need makeup, of course).

Hydrate!
Staying hydrated, especially in warm weather, is not only important for your skin but also for your overall health!
